Audrey Larsen, age 92, of Solon Springs, WI passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 in hospice care at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.
Audrey Jean was born April 25, 1926 in Superior, WI the daughter of Ira and Blanche (Sauers) Anderson. During World War II Audrey went to work at Globe Ship Yard as a welder. After her work with the ship yard, she went to work for Amundson Archery in Superior for ten years; after which she worked for the Police Department in Superior/ Douglas County as a dispatcher for 20 years. She loved camping, fishing, going to the casino and doing crossword puzzles and listening to books on tape. Audrey lived at home until December of 2018 being fiercely independent and doing it her way. She was active at the Solon Springs Senior Center where she enjoyed playing bingo. She was also a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Gordon, WI.
Audrey is survived by her son, Ken (Sharon) Larsen of Wascott, WI; two granddaughters, Shauna (Stephen) Alvanos, Sarah (Andy) Sanrope; three great grandchildren, Hannah, Tristan, Sebastian Alvanos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Wells Larsen; sister, Peggymae Peil; close friends, Marylyn Loustari and Joanne McMullen and her sweet dog, Mollie.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15th, at the Solon Springs Funeral Home with Father Steven Burns officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
