Jacqueline Rose Kurowicki

Jacqueline Rose Kurowicki, 91, of Solon Springs, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s, Duluth, MN.

Jacqueline was born on August 18, 1927, to Edward and Hettie (Ferguson) Rooksberry, in Paxton, IN.  She graduated from high school in Logansport, IN, in 1945.  She attended nursing school in Chicago, IL, where she met John A. Kurowicki.  They were married in Chicago, IL, on October 26, 1946 and lived in Logansport, IN until they moved to Bennett, WI in 1948, and then to Solon Springs, WI in 1969.  She returned to nursing school and graduated with her degree in 1970 from WITC.  She worked at various facilities in the area until her retirement in 1984.  John passed way on April 13, 2008.  She was a member of TOPS in Solon Springs.

Jacqueline is survived by: two children; Susan “Susie” (Bill) Brown, Sr, of Solon Springs, and John “Ed “ (Lavonne) Kurowicki, of Vega, TX, nine grandchildren; special grandson, Clint (Tina) Greely, William J. Brown, Richard Brown, Wayne Brown, Mike Greely, John Kurowicki, Jr., Josh Kurowicki, Matthew Kurowicki, and Nathan Kurowicki, fifteen, great-grandchildren; Brandon, Cameron, Kayla, Jesse, Austin, Peter, John “Jek”, III, Emma, Bristol, Michael, Katie, Alex, Annabella, Aiden, and Erin.  She was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband, John, one son, Tom Kurowicki, one daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Heinen, one brother, Richard Rooksberry, and one sister, Betty Myers.

Jacqueline’s memorial service will be on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 4:00 PM at The Solon Springs Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in The Gordon Cemetery.
