Jerome D. "Jerry" Chartier

Jerome “Jerry” D. Chartier, age 82, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his residence in Couderay, WI.  He was born April 30, 1937 in Quinnesec, MI, the son of Clayton and Germaine (LaPointe) Chartier.  He was united in marriage to Beverley Byrne on March 7, 1959. 

Jerry proudly served in both the Army and Marine Corps.  He worked for over twenty years as a Maintenance Supervisor for Master Lock in Milwaukee.   

In 1997, Jerry and Bev retired to their home on Ashegon Lake.  He loved hunting and fishing in the north woods and was an excellent craftsman and a master of all trades.  Most of all, Jerry was a family man who loved and was proud of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Suzanne Phillips of Couderay, WI, Daniel (Cheryl) Chartier of Brookeville, MD and Robert (Laura) Chartier of Waterford, WI; his grandchildren, Roy, Stacy, Ashley, Chris, Robert and Greg; his great-grandchildren, Lance, Logan, Bryce and Callen; his sisters, Jean (Bob) Dedert, Kathy (Jim) Pulley, Mary Olszewski; Beverly (Jack) Paccagnella and Cindy (Mark) Mueller; his brothers, Ron Chartier, Dennis (Shannon) Chartier and Joey (Robin) Chartier; his step-mother, Lorraine Chartier; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverley; his father, Clayton; his mother, Germaine; and his sisters, Susan Tice and Carol Selke.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Hayward Funeral Home, 15571 W. County Highway B in Hayward.  Visitation from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.  Military honors will follow.  Interment will be held privately.
