Curtis William Metcalf

Curtis Metcalf, 82 Hayward, WI passed peacefully at home on August 3, 2022, surrounded by family.

Curtis was born on March 13, 1940, to Clarence “Buck” and Myrtle Metcalf.  At the age of 17 he joined the Wisconsin National Guard.  He graduated from Hayward High School in 1958.

Curtis moved to Thornton, IL in 1961, where he worked for the Ford Motor Company.  Then he met Barbara Sue Boskovich.  They were united in marriage on April 28, 1962.

He returned to Hayward in 1963 with his family.  He worked with his father at C.W. Metcalf & Sons until 1991.  For the next five years he worked for M&D Swan.  After that he was employed by Thompson Sand & Gravel until he retired.

Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue, his parents, siblings and his fury companion, Buddy.

He is survived by his children: Barbara Stevens, Candace (Kendall) Strain, Kevin (Erin) Metcalf and Keith (Mackenzie) Metcalf.  His grandchildren Ricky, Ryan, Phillip (Bernadette), Todd, Brianne (Pete), Andrew (Penny), Matthew (Anna), Colton, Caleb, Stephanie, and Ashton.  His great grandchildren: Preston, Adam, Cameron, Precious, Serenity, Annie, Magnolia, and Calvin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the Lumberjack Steakhouse, Hayward, WI from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
