Dana Nord Obituary

Dana Marie Nord, age 72, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at her residence in Solon Springs, WI.  She was born on June 25, 1951 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Russell and Marilyn (Bruland) Hoag.  Dana was united in marriage to David Nord on November 25, 1978 in Carlton, Minnesota. 

Dana graduated from Solon Springs High School in 1969 and worked as an LPN for most of her career.  She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth then moved to the Tomah VA Medical Center where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service.  After retirement, Dana and David moved to Solon Springs where she enjoyed the Northwoods, her beloved Husquvarna cart and loved riding horses in her youth.  She also enjoyed sewing and quilting and lovingly made quilts for all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, David Nord of Solon Springs, WI; her son, Erick Nord of Appleton, WI; her daughter, Nova (Joshua) Gelinas of South Hadley, MA; her grandchildren, Lucas McGlone and Abigail, Lillian and Penelope Gelinas; her brothers, Hugh (Rita) Hoag of Solon Springs, WI and Douglas (Beverly) Hoag of Bark River, MI; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Dana is preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held on June 14, 2024 in Billings Park, Superior WI.
