Egbert G. "Bud" Heerema

Egbert G. “Bud” Heerema, age 92, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Rosewood Manor in Delavan, WI.  He was born on March 2, 1930, in Chicago, IL, the son of Jacob and Winnie (Cooper) Heerema. 

Bud was a graduate of Morgan Park Military Academy.  He enlisted into the Navy and served two years on the USS Midway during the Korean War.  In 1955 he married Carol Aardsma.  For over 30 years, Bud worked as a mortgage loan officer in Chicago.  In 1992, Bud and Carol retired to Barnes WI.  After Carols death, he married Evelyn Hanson and continued to reside in Barnes.

He is survived by his children, Duane (Carol) Heerema of Rochester, MN, Carol Heerema of Round Lake, IL, Joyce Perkins of Antioch, IL, and John Heerema of Apache Junction, AZ; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol Aardsma; his second wife, Evelyn Hanson; and his son-in-law, Bob Perkins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Solon Springs Funeral Home, 9005 East Biller Loop in Solon Springs, WI, where visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.  Interment with military honors will follow in Barnes Memorial Cemetery.
