Marilyn Ann (LaCourse) Caldwell

Marilyn Ann LaCourse Caldwell, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.  Marilyn was born in Brainerd, MN to Russell Joseph and Elsie Fern (Roth) LaCourse.  Marilyn graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Duluth, MN.  She proudly served as a Licensed Practical Nurse caring for the sick and elderly in the Brainerd and Minneapolis communities.

Marilyn was well known for her caring nature, professionalism and dedication to those she served.  Our family is especially grateful for her years of care for Russell and Elsie as they advanced in years.  Because of her personal care they were able to remain in their home until their passing, a gift the family could never repay.

Marilyn loved her animals, enjoyed reading and watching her favorite television shows and sports teams and listening to good music.  She will always be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, and dedication to her family, especially by her best friend, soul mate and daughter, Julie.  In the words of Julie, “She was beautiful and selfless.”

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Bill Brown) Caley of Barnes, WI, her brothers; Rick (Kay) LaCourse of Tyler, TX and Russell (Cheryl) LaCourse of Cloquet, MN.

A committal service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd, Minnesota.
