Roy A. Hendricks

Roy Hendricks, age 63, a lifelong resident of Stone Lake, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Essentia St Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.

Roy was born on June 21, 1959, in Hayward, Wisconsin to parents Harvey and Phyllis (Mikula) Hendricks.  Roy attended and graduated from Spooner High School, and on August 19, 1978, was united in marriage to Laura Donlevy at the Stone Lake Wesleyan Church.  Roy was co-owner of their family-owned business, Bar H Implement in Stone Lake, heading up the parts department.  Roy served over 35 years on the Stone Lake Fire Department, and also approximately 35 years on the Sawyer County Ambulance as an EMT-A.  Roy was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Spooner, and enjoyed driving kids down to Texas for mission trips as part of the YWAM Christian Missions in Mexico. 

Roy is survived by his wife Laura, children: Cory (JoLynne) Hendricks of Spooner, WI, Jennifer (Travis) Buhler of Augusta, WI, Daniel (Cheryl) Hendricks of Stone Lake, WI, Michael (Rachel) Hendricks of Shell Lake, 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters: Mary Kay Cooper of Delta, CO, Nancy Ann (Eugene) Slayton of Stone Lake, WI, Marie Ann (Steven) Mickelson of Minong, WI, and many other extended family and friends.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Kathy Mae Hendricks.

Funeral services for Roy Hendricks will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 5pm, at the Cornerstone Church with Andrew Melton officiating.  Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday, from 4-5pm.  A private interment will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake at a later date.
